Mercat de la Llibertat
Have lunch during your Barcelona tours at another of Barcelona’s markets the Mercat de la Llibertat which is open from 8 Am to 8 PM Monday through Saturday. This Miquel Pasqual i Tintoré designed market originally opened in 1888. For an inexpensive meal head to the seafood stalls in the back where you can enjoy appetizing seafood bunuelos, aromatic fried sea critters and delicious gamba ajillo.
Mercat Dominical del Llibre de Sant Antoni
If you will be lucky enough to be on your Barcelona tours on Sunday, then make sure to check out the vintage book market at Mercat de Sant Antoni. The original Sant Antoni Market opened in 1882. The building has been completely remodeled and is a great place to find vintage books, old Spanish coins, unique vinyl records and historical postcards. The vintage book market is only open on Sundays from 10 AM to 5 PM.
La Boquería market
The largest market in Barcelona is the La Boquería market. If you only have time to visit one market on your Barcelona tours, this should be the one. The La Boqueria market is filled with every type of treasure known to man. Make sure to check out their unique flower section for beautiful freshly picked flowers. Over 300 stalls hold treasures just begging to be taken home.
